If you restart your Mac and you find yourself staring at a stalled Mavericks installer with no operating system to use behind it, you can try performing a force-reboot of your Mac by pressing. Mavericks (OS X 10.9) is here! And just as with Lion (OS X 10.7) and Mountain Lion (OS X 10.8) before it, getting Mavericks is as easy as downloading an installer from the Mac App Store. In this screencast tutorial I walk through how to do a clean install of Mavericks. In some cases you might want to start over with a fresh OS X install espec. Strange, perhaps log into the Mac as usual (before reinstalling) and authenticate in the Mac App Store with the Apple ID you wish to use, then try to use this reinstallation method with that logged in / authenticated Apple ID. Be sure the Mac is connected to the internet as well, with working access.
